In-Office Sessions
Prior to your in-office visit, please read through the below information thoroughly. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions or concerns about in-office visits.
Where is your office?
The office is located in the Wellington Village area of Ottawa in suite #103 at 99 Holland Avenue. Suite 103 is shared by several other lovely psychotherapists (collectively called Holland Professional Associates) and there is a shared waiting room for all clients.
Please enter the building through the main entrance at 99 Holland. There is a keypad to your right where you will see Katherine listed; please buzz 9005 to be let into the building. Please note that if you arrive early, she may be with a client or otherwise occupied and unable to let you into the building immediately. If this is the case, please try again 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment start time.
Suite 103 is located on the second floor. There is a set of elevators as well as a staircase once you have entered the building. Please enter Suite 103 and take a seat and Katherine will come out to greet you at your appointment start time.
How do I get there?
99 Holland Avenue is located immediately north of Wellington Street West and two blocks south of Tunney's Pasture station on Scott Street. This area is easily accessed through OC Transpo; please use go here to plan your route through public transit.
Here are some simplified driving directions:
From the 417 (going east or west bound), exit at Parkdale Avenue North. Turn left onto Wellington Street W and then turn right on to Holland Avenue, which is one set of traffic lights west of Parkdale; 99 Holland will be on your right.
From the Ottawa River Parkway (going east or west bound), exit at Parkdale Avenue and drive south to Wellington. Turn right on Scott Street, and then at the next set of lights turn left to go south on Holland Avenue; 99 Holland will be on your left.
Where do I park?
There are four designated visitor parking spots for 99 Holland; they are clearly labelled and immediately in front of you as you are driving into the small parking lot behind the building from Holland Avenue. If these are occupied, there is also ample free street parking available on much of Holland Avenue for 60 minutes and on parts of Wellington Street for 90 minutes. Additionally, some side streets on the south side of Wellington Street have free parking for 120 minutes. Of course, please read all signs carefully, comply with the posted parking restrictions, and do not park in any non-visitor parking spots.
COVID-19 Policies & Procedures
What do I need to do before our appointment?
Clients are asked to fill out a pre-appointment screener (sent through Jane App) at least 24 hours prior to the in-office session. We ask that you please consider each question carefully and answer honestly, for the sake of your well-being and ours, as well as the health of our other clients.
What if I have symptoms prior to an appointment?
Virtual appointments are always available in lieu of in-office appointments, and while as much notice as possible is strongly preferred, at this time there is no fee for changing an in-office session to a virtual appointment, even within 24 hours of the session start-time.
How will it work once I arrive?
At this time, masks are not required in the waiting room or during the session, though we have regular masks and speech reading masks available upon request.
Upon entering the office, please use the available no-contact hand sanitizer before taking a seat.
Throughout our appointment, we will be running a Blueair ‘Blue Pure 311 Auto’ air purifier that uses a three-part HEPA filtration system to optimize air quality. (Of note, a CBC Marketplace review found that a Blueair model outperformed all other air purifiers tested on the CADR [Clean Air Delivery Rate] scale).
At the end of our sessions, please ensure that any used tissues and other refuse are disposed of in the available receptacles and use the no-contact hand sanitizer before you leave.
No-contact payment options are exclusively available at this time, and payment will be processed through e-transfer or through Jane App.
The office will be sanitized upon your departure. All disinfectants used in our office are on Health Canada’s list of products with evidence for use against COVID-19. Please note that in-office sessions are scheduled to allow for time to sanitize our office space between appointments, and high-touch areas will be sanitized with particular care.
Is there a bathroom that I can use?
Suite 103 has a bathroom available for use for clients of Holland Professional Associates. Though this bathroom is regularly cleaned and very well-maintained, due to time and logistical constraints we are unable to ensure that it is thoroughly sanitized after each use. Given this, please be extra mindful to use the proper handwashing technique.
